Want to be part of a bigger planting project? Join an upcoming Tree for All event to help create shade and improve water quality in local streams and creeks.
Be a master recycler
Want to learn more and teach others about waste reduction, recycling and composting? The Master Recycler Program is a $50, eight-week course beginning March 30 that teaches participants about the 3 Rs and how to teach others in return. The weekly evening sessions will be held in Hillsboro and the program also includes two field trip Saturdays.
Attendance at all classes and an agreement to complete 30 volunteer hours is required to be considered for Master Recycler Certification. Volunteer hours can be earned staffing informational booths at community events, delivering presentations and working on special projects. Registration is limited to 30 people and closes February 17.
